What makes getting an architecture degree hard?
I am just wondering because I am just starting my first semester as a sophomore and I am seriously thinking about going for an architecture degree. I have heard from numerous people that it is really hard to get an architecture degree but I really haven't had a good explanation as to why. If I could have someone who knows a lot about it architecture and the process through college I would be very thankful. Thanks in advance.

- i bribed somebody to get my civil engineering degree ;-) .... ... so actually DOING the degree would be: HARD.
- Complicated applied Maths and very tedious sketching and design make it hard. But if you got the skills and determination, it wouldn't be so bad.
- First of all, most reputable architecture schools are difficult to get into since they have limited openings each year. The courses are not difficult, it just a matter of the amount of work. While I was in school, I often would spend 72 hours without sleep working on a project in studio. Other people in my class would be on a similar schedule. The philosophy in design studio is that you start being behind and you will never catch up. Your professor and the visiting jurors will reinforce that during grading/judging. You practically end up living in the Studio with all your classmates. Architecture School is a marathon that pushes your body and mind to its limits.
