What characteristics or criterias for architecture (building, bridges) to belong in great architecture?
I cnt find the definition for 'great architecture'. as seperate words, great is referred in terms of size, amount or importance that is beyond average. does that mean that size is a criteria to be labelled as great architecture?

- I don't think there is a specific definition for 'great architecture,' and size it is not one way to refer to it. You might find big structures that will not fit in the description of great architecture (if you walk around midtown NYC you will know what I mean) and some small structures that coul be called great. Actually, what do people mean when they say 'great architecture'? Great in terms of what? It could be in the context of relevance to the surroundings. For example, the Brooklyn Bridge was a great technological feat which allowed people to travel faster between Manhattan and Brooklyn. The Gothic churches of medieval times could be defined as great in terms of their innovative use of structure, and in the impact it created on people's lives. Or even the Guggenheim museum in Bilbao Spain was very important to the city of Bilbao. The city was transformed with the flux of so many tourists visiting the museum. Of course, we can talk about great architecture in terms of beauty too. I think most of us will agree that the Taj Mahal is a beautiful building.
